What are Group Classes?

Some of the best learning happens in a room full of kids who are all figuring it out together.

Group classes at FAME give children the chance to build performing arts skills alongside their peers — learning not just from their instructor, but from each other. There's something that happens in a group setting that private lessons can't replicate: the courage that comes from watching the kid next to you try something, and deciding you will too. Group classes are perfect for SOA auditions too!

At FAME, group classes cover:

Group Singing

Vocal technique, harmony, and performance skills built together in a room that loves music as much as your kid does.

Acting (Coed)

Theater games, scene work, and the kind of creative risk-taking that only happens when everyone in the room feels safe.

Acting (Boys)

We’ve been asked for years. The same great training in a space designed specifically for boys, where they can be loud, take risks, and surprise themselves.

Why Group Classes?

Group classes offer something private lessons can't: the magic of learning together.

N

Built-In Support System

There's something special about learning alongside other kids who are figuring it out at the same time. They encourage each other, celebrate each other, and make the whole thing feel a lot less scary than going it alone.

N

Learn by Doing

Group classes at FAME are hands-on from day one. Kids don't sit and watch — they participate, play, and perform. Every single class.

N

Low-Pressure Exploration

Not sure if your child is ready to commit to private lessons? Group classes are the perfect way to try something new — low stakes, lots of fun, and a great way to find out what they love.

N

The FAME Difference

Like everything we do, group classes are completely non-competitive. No rankings, no pressure, no comparison. Just a room full of kids doing something they love, getting better at it together.

Who Are Group Classes For?

Group classes are perfect for kids who:

  • Want to try something new before committing to private lessons
  • Thrive in social learning environments
  • Are already in Troupe or After School and want to explore more
  • Love performing arts but prefer learning with friends

Ages: Kindergarten through 8th grade (same as our other programs)

Already Enrolled?

You Have Access!

Troupe and After School families:

Group class access is included in your tuition — at no extra cost!

This is one of the best-kept secrets at FAME.

Your child can:

  • Try a new instrument between rehearsals
  • Build vocal skills that complement their Troupe training
  • Explore acting techniques in a smaller setting

How to sign up:

Check the current semester's group class schedule in your Parent Portal and register for any class that fits your schedule.

Not Yet Enrolled?

Group classes are included with our Troupe and After School programs. Two of the best ways to experience everything FAME has to offer.

Music Theatre Troupe

Kids and Junior Troupe meet twice a week to rehearse and perform a full musical each semester. Troupe tuition includes unlimited group class access — so your child can explore singing, acting, instruments, and more.

After School Program

We pick up your child from school and bring them to FAME for an afternoon of performing arts. After-school tuition also includes group class access (limited for part-time students) as part of the program.

What Parents

Are Saying

FAME continues to inspire and engage my children in ways I never knew possible. It's incredibly fun, low-pressure, and fantastically joyful for them to be there week after week.
