The flute is one of the most expressive instruments a person can learn, and it starts with something every kid already has: breath.

Working one-on-one with a dedicated instructor, your child builds real technique from the ground up: breath support, tone, and control, plus the musicality that turns notes into something that actually moves people.

What Happens in a Flute Lesson?

Private flute lessons at FAME are built around your kid: their goals, their pace, and whatever songs make them excited to practice. Whether your child has never touched a flute before or is just getting comfortable with it, every lesson meets them exactly where they are.

We start with the fun stuff that makes a flute a flute — learning to get that first clear note out, silly breathing games, and simple tunes they'll actually recognize. As those basics click, we build in new songs and little challenges, always at a pace that feels like winning, not work.

By the end, your child won't just be blowing air through a flute. They'll be genuinely proud every time they play something all the way through — and having fun doing it.

A Mentor, Not Just a Teacher

Ms. Regina tailors every lesson to your child's goals and personality. It's personal, not a script.

No Pressure, Lots of Progress

We celebrate every milestone, no matter how small. Kids leave flute lessons feeling proud of what they accomplished.

Music They Actually Want to Play

We work toward repertoire that excites your child, not just scales and exercises. That's what makes the practice feel like play.

Real Technique, Not Just Encouragement

Kids learn proper breath support, embouchure, and tone: the fundamentals that make the flute sound beautiful, not just loud.

What Parents

Are Saying

"My daughter started out as a total beginner in the Toot Flute class, and it was such a sweet, encouraging introduction to music. She grew so much in that class that she was ready to move up to private 1:1 flute lessons with Ms. Regina — and watching her confidence bloom since then has been one of the best parts of our FAME experience.

Ms. Regina is patient, warm, and clearly loves what she does, and it shows in how excited my daughter is for every lesson. Honestly, we love all the teachers and staff at FAME. From day one it's felt like more than just a place for lessons — it feels like a second home. If your child is even a little bit curious about music, I can't recommend FAME enough. We can't imagine being anywhere else."

Frequently Asked Questions

What ages do you teach?

Private lessons are available for ages 7+.

What is the commitment level?

Private lessons are by the semester or week-to-week.

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes. Semester lessons will be scheduled before Aug 28. A la carte lessons must be scheduled no sooner than 24 hours in advance.

Is this different from the Toot Flutes group class?

Yes. Private lessons are one-on-one with an instructor and move at your child's pace. Toot Flutes is a small group class. Both are great, just different experiences.

Will my child need to practice at home?

No mandatory practice! Students at FAME develop a love for what they do, so they rarely feel like they have to practice; they want to play at home! Like anything, you get what you put into it, but the goal is intrinsic motivation, not running out a clock. We do not shame a child for not practicing.

How do I get started?

Click "Book a Lesson" below to view available times and register through our parent portal.

What if my child wants to try multiple instruments?

That's great! You can book lessons for different instruments. Many kids start with one and explore others over time.
