A Pre-Conservatory Program

Students studying music at a high level are also highly sought after in the medical, legal, engineering, and many other fields. They are often regarded as the most intelligent with the highest earning potential in fields related to critical thinking, language processing, memory, math, self awareness, social skills, and long term success. 

 

Students studying music see benefits in language skills, communicating, self esteem and confidence, listening and auditory development. They have improved test scores, stress and anxiety reduction techniques, compassion, and avoid complacency.

 

Minimester

January 6- February 14

A 6 week pre-conservatory program with plans to extend to a summer and year long program 2020/2021

 

Our program includes

  • group workshops (voice and opera)

  •  group piano

  •  music theory and sight-singing

  • movement for performers

  • voice or piano lessons for 3rd-12th

  • vocal diction (5th-12th).

 

All materials are included. Fees may be made in full or in two installments. For installment plan, please email info@fameperformingarts.org.

Piccola Studio (K-4 Grade)

Piccola Full Voice (K-2)--The First Introduction to Music Theory and Sight-Singing

Piccola Full Voice (3-4)--The First Introduction to Music Theory and Sight-Singing

 

  1. The first introduction to Music Theory and Sight-Singing. Students will learn technical exercises, music theory, rhythm reading, ear-training, sight-singing, and more in this fun interactive class. *Workbook included in the tuition. 

 

Piccola Movement (K-2)-The first introduction to stage movement.

Piccola Movement (3-4)-The first introduction to stage movement. 

 

  1. Students will learn to have confidence moving on stage as well as explore the breadth of their imagination in relation to how their bodies move. Students will use movement to improve mindfulness and proprioception. 

 

Piccola Group Piano (K-2)--The first introduction to piano playing. 

Piccola Group Piano (3-4)--The first introduction to piano playing. 

 

  1. Students will learn the basics of piano playing as well as learn to read sheet music and rhythms.

All classes are included in the price of tuition for Piccola Studio K-2 or Piccola Studio 3-4. While attendance is not required, it is crucial to the overall experience and education of the student.

Mozart Voice Workshop (5-7 Grade)

Mozart Voice Workshop--

  1. Students will learn the elements of classical music performance using various styles, including but not limited to, art song, arias, folk songs, sacred songs, and opera. Final performance February 14 with Holy City Opera singers. Tickets will be available for purchase January 17.                                                                          *attendance for Voice Workshop is mandatory

Mozart Movement ---

  1. Students will use movement to improve mindfulness and proprioception.

 

Mozart Piano- 

  1. Students will learn the basics of piano playing, sight-reading, and rhythm. In a group setting, they will be able to learn from each other as well as get individual attention. 

Mozart Theory/Sightsinging--

  1. Students will learn the basics of the elements that make up a piece of music, including notation, key signatures, time signatures, and chord progressions. Students will learn the basics of how to read music at first sight by improving aural skills, reading sheet music, pitch accuracy, and rhythmical skills.

Mozart and Presto Cross-over (combined) 

Intro to Diction - 

  1. Students will improve their pronunciation and enunciation for singing as well as learn the international phonetic alphabet (IPA) as it relates to classical singing. 

All classes are included in the price of tuition for Mozart Voice Workshop. While attendance is not mandatory, it is crucial to the overall experience and education of the student.

Presto Opera Workshop (8-12 Grade)

Presto Opera Workshop--

  1. Students will learn the basics of how to perform opera and opera scenes, art song, arias, folk songs, and sacred music. Final performance February 14 with Holy City Opera singers. Presto Movement- 

  1. Students will use movement to improve mindfulness and proprioception.  This will teach the students how to use their bodies in a way that both enhances the dramatic element of their performance and does not take away from their vocal production.

  1. Students will learn the basics of piano playing, sight-reading, and rhythm. In a group setting, so they will get individual attention and be able to learn from their classmates.

Dance Workshop Rates

*classes not included in pre-conservatoire program

Dancing Creatively: Improv and Choreo-$105 for 6 classes

  • Open to all ages, levels, and styles of dancer, age 8+!

  • Please bring a music player (iPhone, mp3 player, etc) with headphones for assignments

  • Dancing Creatively will include exercises to approach and improve improvisational movement, will look at various ways to approach, complete, and teach choreography, and will culminate in a studio presentation of one work per student.

Dancing Technically: Strength, Flex, and Progressions-$105 for 6 classes

  • Open to all ages, levels, and styles of dancer, age 8+! 

  • Take your dancing to the next level by focusing on your instrument - your body!

  • Build your vocabulary of leaps and turns, and build strength and flexibility with exercises that you can continue throughout the year.
